The seven-year-old has won once from seven starts over hurdles, but he looked impressively on his latest start.

He was a close fourth of eight behind Woodie Flash over an extended two miles and seven last month, and arguably would have won that contest had he not hung to the left late on.

Up 3lb following that effort, and is likely to be competitive once again.

The Somerset National is the feature at Wincanton today. King Turgeon has been consistent for the David Pipe team throughout this season, winning three on the bounce since having wind surgery in August.

Was last seen bolting up at Cheltenham over three miles and two, beating Our Power by three lengths. Had previously landed the Grand Sefton at Aintree over two miles and five.

Still unclear where his limitations lie, and should take a lot of beating today.
