Record breaking mare Winx had an illustrious life on the track and is now well on the way to providing some similar specimens as she is expecting her first foal since going to stud.
She is due to give birth to a son or daughter by I Am Invincible with October next year the time of arrival for the foal with Australian racing fans keeping a keen eye on proceedings.
The seven year old trained by leading Aussie trainer Chris Waller had a once in a life time career landing a record breaking 25 Group Ones and winning 33 consecutive races, not being beat since May 2015.
Her overall standings show 37 wins from 43 starts with her losses coming early on in her career but now all she is being focused on is bringing through a new crop of exceptional horses.
Winx is by far the most famous race horse to ever come out of Australia but she gripped the whole of the racing world with the run of winners she went on to produce.
Her owners Debbie Kepitis, Peter and Patty Tighe and Richard Treweeke issued a statement on Friday giving the overjoyed news.

"She has taken to retirement wonderfully well and has settled in perfectly to her new home.
"We are very excited about this next stage of her career. Hopefully she will be blessed with good luck and good health through the balance of her pregnancy delivering a happy and healthy first foal by I Am Invincible.
"He is a fantastic stallion and we are very grateful to the Mitchell Family and all of the team at Yarraman Park for their assistance through the breeding season.
"Similarly, to those who participate in the daily care of Winx at her new home. We consider ourselves fortunate to have her in the hands of such talented and considerate horse people. She looks as happy now as she did when she was racing, which is fantastic for us to see."
