Our NAP of the Day for the last day of the York Ebor Festival, Mr Lightside has a strong track record, having won at Redcar and Nottingham before finishing third at Goodwood, narrowly beaten by a stable-mate. It prefers to lead the race and is expected to perform well again, making it a top contender for the upcoming competition.
A talented hurdler who won the 2023 renewal of the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival.
Went chasing last season and improved again, winning very nicely at Warwick before coming 5th in the Turners’ Novice Chase and 2nd in the Mildmay Novice Chase.
Returns to action this season in much calmer waters and should get back to winning ways.

Lake Forest is a promising contender for the 3.00 at Ebor, winner of last year's Gimcrack stake, his suitability for the 7-furlong distance and along with a skilled rider in Tom Marquand puts the horse as our favourite for this race.
Mr. Lightside is a strong contender in the 16:45 at Ebor having previously won at Redcar and Nottingham and finishing third at Goodwood. He prefers to lead and is expected to perform well.
The upcoming race is highly competitive, with many horses having a chance to win. Despite being a longshot, Terrorise has been well-backed by connections and could benefit from the extra distance and the experienced jockey Shay Farmer, who has a perfect record at York.
Bolted up over course and distance in December 2022 off a mark of 123 in fine style, but struggled to hold his form in deeper contests off an elevated mark for the rest of the campaign.
Tried his hand at chasing last season and wasn’t disgraced over the bigger obstacles in some good efforts.
Dropped back to hurdles now, a mark of 119 looks lenient, especially with a 5lbs claimer in the saddle. Well treated and returns to a venue he’s gone well at, can run a big race at 20/1.
