19:24 - Mahaam
Todd Pletcher’s runners often improve for their first run and this son of Into Mischief beat all but a subsequent winner on debut over C&D.
He was well found in the market that day and Irad Ortiz has been booked from stall 4.
First-time blinkers applied.
19:58 - Public Sector
This son of Kingman was highly tried as a 2-y-o being thrown into the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf on just his third start and he caught the eye with a never-nearer second on seasonal debut here at the start of May.
That outing should have him primed for a big run upped in grade and Flavian Prat is the right man to negotiate stall 12.
22:15 - Thundering Nights
Joseph O’Brien’s 4-y-o filly has an excellent record on a quick surface so this trip to the U.S may prove fruitful.
Her three efforts on good ground have seen her get the better of the 108 rated Amma Grace as well as credible places behind the likes of Broome and Cayenne Pepper.
This is a competitive event but she has the form in the book to go close and is forecasted to be an e/w price.
22:48 - Baron Samedi
Joseph O’Brien also sends Baron Samedi over for the 2m and this 4-y-o gelding may prove hard to beat.
He has won all of his last six races improving as he grows and moves up in distance and his latest effort on good to firm outlines he has every chance of handling the U.S surface.
He is one of the guaranteed stayers in the race and this doesn’t look a strong event.
