This is a Group 1 race ran over the Rowley mile at Newmarket. It is open to 2 year old fillies. It was last year by Laurens for trainer Karl Burke. Antonia De Vega is the current market favourite at around 3/1.
Bet365 Fillies' Mile Runner By Runner Guide
Number 1 - Antonia De Vega - 3/1
Trainer - Ralph Beckett
Jockey - Harry Bentley
Group 1s - 0
Antonia De Vega is unbeaten so far in her career, having already beaten market rival Zagitova on debut at Newmarket. She heads the market at 3/1, having won The Prestige Stakes, Group 3, last time out. That race was won last year by Billesdon Brooke who went on to win the 1000 Guineas.
Number 2 - Beyond Reason - 10/1
Trainer - Charlie Appleby
Jockey - William Buick
Group 1s - 0
Beyond Reason was a bit disappointing last time out behind Skitter Skatter in the Moyglare Stakes at the Curragh. She was sent off 9/2 that day, looking to add to her recent win at Deauville earlier in the summer. She may represent a bit of value if she can reproduce that form.
Number 3 - Hermosa 10/3
Trainer - Aidan O’Brien
Jockey - TBC
Group 1s - 0
Hermosa was third to Skitter Skatter at the Curragh, just edging out her stablemate Zagitova. She has added a win to her belt since at Naas and is likely to fight for favouritism here. She looks like the step up to a mile will really suit.
Number 4 - Iridessa 25/1
Trainer - Joseph O’Brien
Jockey - Wayne Lordan
Group 1s - 0
Iridessa is likely to be the outsider of the field for Joseph O’Brien. Her only win (from 3 races) came over a mile on debut. She beat Cardini that day at odds of 20/1. She has been highly tried since over 7 furlongs but was only good enough for third last time out at Leopardstown. 2nd that day was beaten 2.5 lengths by Hermosa recently. The step back up to a mile is likely to suit.
Number 5 - Layaleena 16/1
Trainer - Sir Michael Stoute
Jockey - Jim Crowley
Group 1s - 0
Layaleena was beaten at odds of 4/6 last time out over her first attempt at a mile. She has a lot to prove after that run and would need to progress for Michael Stoute. She is bred to stay further than 7 furlongs.
Number 6 - Pretty Pollyanna 4/1
Trainer - Michael Bell
Jockey - Daniel Tudhope
Group 1s - 1
Pretty Pollyanna was a beaten favourite in the Cheveley Park Stakes last time out, having also been favourite for the 1000 Guineas. She won her Group 1 at Deauville in the Prix Morny over 6 furlongs. Michael Bell has decided to step her up to a mile after that defeat last time out. She is likely to fight for favouritism here.
Number 7 - Shambolic 15/2
Trainer - John Gosden
Jockey - Frankie Dettori
Group 1s - 0
Shambolic is making a big step up in class here. She is 2 from 2 so far but the form of those two races hasn’t amounted to much. She is likely to race prominently again but she will have to progress in a stronger race.
Number 8 - Zagitova 7/2
Trainer - Aidan O’Brien
Jockey - TBC
Group 1s - 0
Zagitova has been beaten twice by Skitter Skatter, in the Debutante Stakes followed by the Moyglare. These were run over 7 furlongs. She steps up again to a mile where she has her one and only win. That win was a 4 and a half length win to now 103 rated Bandiuc Eile. She was also found to be lame after this win and may not have been at full fitness subsequently. She is likely to improve again and should also be fighting for favouritism.
