Four To Follow From Navan On Sunday

The first selection for us from Navan on Sunday comes in the Grade Three Novices' Hurdle over two and half miles and the Gordon Elliott trained Farouk D'Alene looks the one to beat.

In March 2019 the gelding won a five runner point to point at Belclare by 18 lengths and was bought by Gigginstown House Stud for €260,000 and given to Elliott.

In December at Down Royal the youngster made his debut in a decent bumper and was just a class above the rest winning the 2m1f event by 18 lengths.

In February he then went to Naas for another bumper and in a different style he won the race, getting back up when headed by rival Fire Attack to win by a head.

He made his hurdles debut on his seasonal bow this term at Down Royal in October and he extended his unbeaten streak to four races with an emphatic win and you can only see the horse improving for that run.

The Beginners' Chase over 2 miles 1 furlong looks to be a very classy event with some of last seasons hurdle stars from Ireland now stepping over the bigger obstacles.

Our selection is the Joseph O'Brien trained Entoucas who made a very pleasing debut over fences last month at Tipperary when second to the smart Unexpected for Willie Mullins.

Enotucas was a decent hurdles horse Finishing closely in behind Envoi Allen, Mt Leinster during his career before breaking his maiden tag at Naas in February.

His chase debut suggested he would improve for the run and if jumping slightly better is a live player in this event having the added experience of having a run over the obstacles this term.

The seven year old has raced 10 times during his short career and has not finished outside the top three in his point to point and rules career to date.

Two seasons ago on his final two starts over hurdles he really came to life landing the Grade One Albert Bartlett at the festival at a huge price of 50/1 and then backed that up at the Punchestown festival when landing another classy Grade One.

He went novice chasing last season and after running well on debut behind star mare Laurina, he landed a Beginners Chase at Navan before narrowly being beaten in the RSA Novices' Chase at the festival, With Champ pipping him on the line.

Coming out of novice company this term he started his season off at Wexford at the back end of October in the Grade Three Memorial Chase where he jumped the field into submission, going on to win the event by 25 lengths.

This event looks another stepping stone towards the Cheltenham festival and if managing a clear round of jumping should not be beat.

The final selection from us at Navan on Sunday comes in the competitive Listed bumper over two miles and Gordon Elliott fields Party Central.

The likeable filly goes for owners Valerie and Noel Moran who have had some nice horses of late including Queen's Brook and Hollow Games.

They will be hoping this four year old is at a similar standard having landed a bumper at Tipperary on debut back in October by four lengths and the sky is the limit for this horse now in better company.
