Canvassed
The Gowland & Dawson Ltd Novice Stakes has attracted a trio of raiders from Newmarket, one of them raiders is CANVASSED, who can overturn the hot favourite here.
The debutant cost a hefty 350,000gns as a yearling, but wasn’t seen as a juvenile and in the early part of this season due to some hold ups.
Trainer Roger Varian has nursed him back into rude health for the latter end of the season and just like many top yards do, Varian will have him tuned up to the wire for his debut. While the hot favourite Mainsail Atlantic is his main rival, Canvassed comes into this unexposed and could be a potentially smart horse for such a powerful yard.

Nubough
We side with another newcomer in the Northumbrian Water Group/EBF Novice Stakes, as NUBOUGH could be a steal at the price he currently is.
Just like any horse owned by Hamdan Al Maktoum, Nubough has a very encouraging pedigree and the son of Kodiac has been given time this season to mature both physically and mentally.
Compared to many, Nubough makes his juvenile debut quite late on in the season, and the fitting of a hood on his debut suggest his temper may not have been conquered just yet and could pose as a negative. However, his trainer Charlie Hills is 2-7 with two-year-olds at this venue and at such a price for powerful connections in an open looking maiden, Nubough is a very good price.

Dosc
The finale on the card is the Northumbrian Wateraid Novice Stakes, and the favourite DOSC is the pick of the race.
David O’Meara’s charge ran with plenty of promise on his debut in May over six furlongs, where he was ultimately outstayed on the day. The son of Dream Ahead has been absent since that run, but like our previous tip, he will have been given time to mature and iron out any greenness left tin his system.
Back down to the minimum trip and against some exposed runners, O’Meara has found a great opportunity here for Dosc to get off the mark, and he will prove to be very hard to beat.
