Glorious Goodwood Day One Main Bets and Selections
1.50 Coral Chesterfield Cup Handicap - Ouzo
Yes he's off a higher mark than usual but Ouzo always seems to run huge races in big-field handicaps so he can't be ignored at a massive price.
Down in Class should make him competitive again as he was in great from prior to his last race.
2.25 Group Two Vintage Stakes - Aomori City
Won well on debut and didn't disgrace himself when 3rd in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket three weeks ago. You'd expect even more improvement to come up in trip which he gets today so one to note with interest.
3.00 Group Two Lennox Stakes - Noble Dynasty
Has been very impressive when winning at Newmarket in his last two runs and doesn't look like stopping here.
This looks a tougher test but he has to be respected due to the form he's been showing.
3.35 Group One Goodwood Cup Stakes - Kyprios
Would be a shock to see him get beat here as this doesn't look the strongest of renewals.
4.10 Coral Racing Club Handicap - Democracy Dilemma
Has recently been seen in Class 1 races but should be able to get back on track down in Class and now just 2 lb above his last place mark.
4.45 British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes - Gannas
Made a promising start when 3rd on debut 20 days ago and is one in here who could well come on massively from that.
The 2nd has boosted the form so that can only further enhance his chances.
5.20 Ridgeview Fillies' Handicap - Arisaig
Returns to the trip where she last won and has dropped a lb for last effort which came in a better race.
5.55 HKJC World Pool British EBF Fillies' Handicap - Jumbeau
She probably found it too hot of a race last time out so will be suited to these calmer waters.
Oisin Murphy is booked to ride which could mean connections fancy her to go close back against her own sex here.
