The first selection on day three at Glorious Goodwood is Electric Ladyland for the in form Archie Watson team who are currently running at 28% strike rate for the last two weeks.

The three year old filly enters into the event in the best form of any runner having landed a Class 2 event at Windsor last time out and overall for her three summer runs she has won two of them.

Like many of the horses in this field she has been frequently raced at this trip of five furlongs and also having course and distance form this term makes her a nice price at 5/1.

A horse we believe could be a group horse in the making and still racing in handicaps is Al Salt for another inform trainer William Haggas.

The Newmarket handler has been running at a strike rate of 27.87% for the last two weeks with 17 winners across the last 14 days.

With that, he fields Al Salt in this event who looks to be a huge improver winning both his events nicely this term and beating Tilsit on his seasonal debut, who has since gone on to frank that form.

Looks the one to beat if progressing again and taking to turf.

The first big race of the day is the Group Two Qatar Richmond Stakes and Yazaman for again William Haggas looks to just have the edge on the field.

The two year old son of Kodiac cost 185,000 as a yearling and has shown plenty of ability on all three of of his starts, not finishing outside of the top two.

The colt scored at Yarmouth in taking fashion on debut and then headed to Royal Ascot for the Listed Windsor Stakes and just got beat by Tactical, who again beat him when stepping up to six furlongs at Newmarket in a Group Two event.

On that form alone he is the one to follow in this event.

Another classy race on the day is the Group Three Gordon Stakes and with six smart contenders heading to post you could make a case for most of them.

However, the Epsom Derby favourite English King deserves another chance in our eyes having dominated at Lingfield in the Listed Derby Trial and then went on to finish fifth in the Classic event.

The Derby, overall fell apart with the front runners never being caught but if looking back at the race and watching the horses who stayed on, English King was one of the eye-catchers and we are sticking with him in this one to get back to winning ways.

The only Group One of the afternoon is the fillies and mares Qatar Naasau Stakes and the John Gosden trained Nazeef fits the profile for this contest.

The Hamdan Al Maktoum owned four year old is one of the most progressive fillies in training having landed all of her last six races, getting better and better with each run.

Having shown plenty of ability as a youngster it has been this season that she has shown her best form, landing the Group Two Duke Of Cambridge Stakes and from that stepping up to the Group One Falmouth Stakes and beating another good field.

She faces another stiff test going up against the favourite Fancy Blue but if progressing like she has and taking to the extra distance, she should be in the mix.

Our penultimate selection on the third day at the Sussex track comes in the Class Two Gusbourne Nursery Handicap over seven furlongs and Running Back for the Qatar Racing team looks to have a huge chance.

The two year old has shown glimpses of ability on both his starts to date finishing second at Newbury behind the smart Qaader for Mark Johnston and then again being runner up in a close event at Kempton.

The juvenile now needs to improve stepping into Nursery company but from his pedigree looks a very smart, speedy type that is just waiting for the penny to drop.

In the lucky last we are sticking with the hot favourite Winter Power for Tim Easterby who is another horse on the upgrade for a top yard.

Easterby has shown how good he can be with King Power horses this season, having back to back wins with Art Power and they seem to have another talent on their hands with this filly.

The two year old finished third on her first two starts on the all weather and when switched to turf on Monday at Redcar, she got off the mark in great style.

Looks the one to beat off the back of that performance.
