The win selection in the Group One Grand Prix De Paris on Wednesday is the Irish Derby winner Hurricane Lane, who if coming out of the Irish Classic event in good spirits may just be too good to beat.

The three year old son of Frankel made his debut last term at Newmarket in a decent Novice Stakes over a mile on heavy ground and he ran out an easy winner.

Saved for this season, he was stepped up in trip on seasonal debut in a good Conditions Stakes over 10f and again ran out a good winner, doing his best work near the finish.

The form of that race does not look bad with the second since placing in a better event and the fourth placed runner since winning.

He also backed up this form line last time out when landing the Group Two Dante Stakes at York, staying the 10.5 furlongs well.

He saw off smart runners Megallan and High Definition that day and was sure to head to the Derby having plenty of stamina in his family.

The colt managed to finish a good third in the Classic event behind Adayar and Mojo Star, with the form of those runners working out and he also lost two shoes in running that day.

With plenty of scope for improvement from that run he was last seen in the Irish Derby at The Curragh we he chased down Lone Eagle late in the day to get up on the line.

This term he has proved it time and time again just how good he is and he looks the one to beat.

At a bigger price and advertised as an each way selection for the Group One event is the Jean-Claude Rouget trained Cheshire Academy, who at 7/1 is big place value.

The three year old was first seen on a racecourse in November getting off the mark in a 10 runner Maiden at Pau over 10f, revelling in the distance.

He made it back to back wins in February this year in a small runner Conditions event and when seeking the hat-trick last time out put up another decent effort.

The colt passed the post first in the Group Three Prix Noailles at ParisLongchamp over this races' trip, but was demoted to second in the Stewards room.

Nevertheless it was another strong staying effort and off the back of that he was last seen finishing a staying on fifth in the Group One Prix du Jockey Club.

The form of that race has already taken a boost, with winner St Mark's Basilica since landing the Group One Coral Eclipse at Sandown.

From the way he ran last time out the step up trip is sure to suit and if taking to the sounder surface to what he has been running on this season then he could be a nice each way bet.
