Happy Valley Wednesday Double - 09/06/21

The first horse in the double from Happy Valley sees the five furlong Deep Bay Handicap and Larson is a highly consistent performer that won't be far away.

The five year old has been in fine form over course and distance in his last three events, not finishing out the top three on all of his runs and has still managed to stay on a decent mark.

Last time out the gelding was seen finishing a close up third on quick ground off a mark of 75 and he enters the race off the same mark with the superb Zac Purton on board.

Been knocking on the door and now from stall five can finally get his head infront.

The final runner of the double sees us side with Smoothies over a mile in the Mirs Bay Handicap and this consistent type is another that has been knocking on the door.

Having won over seven furlongs back in March 2020, the gelding lost his way slightly but in his last three runs has bounced back to form with three straight seconds.

All of his runner up runs have came over course and distance with his latest run in May seeing him go the closest he has when just getting beat by a neck.

He only runs off 1lb higher in this event and if getting a clear run from stall seven he should power home once more.
