Haydock Saturday Preview - 10/09/18

13:25 - Ginger Fox

Haydock hosts the best card of racing across Britain on Saturday and the first race of the day is the Racing TV Handicap over 1 mile.

We fancy the Ian Williams trained Ginger Fox to land the spoils in this one and the three year old looks in fine form with four seconds in his last six races.

Although he is lacking a recent win he has ran to a high standard and if being in the same form ran a cracker of course and distance that he can build on.

14:30 - Miss O Connor 9/4

The Dick Hern Listed Stakes over a mile looks a good contest for the fillies and William Haggas' Miss O'Connor looks tough to beat.

The four year old has only raced twice in her career winning both in good style and although taking a big jump in grade looks a hot recruit for the yard.

His latest run was his first for Haggas where he bolted up by 12 lengths and looked a class above that field and is an exciting entry here.

15:05 - Addeybb 6/5

The feature race of the day is the is the Group 3 Rose Of Lancaster Stakes and with the rain coming we have sided with William Haggas trained Addeybb.

This five year old is a very frustrating horse to follow but last time out gave a good performance and if the rain comes on Saturday should be in the mix.

He landed the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot two starts back and finished a good second in the Group 2 York Stakes last time out which makes him a player off that form.

As said, rain is a big factor for this horse and if he gets it he will be hard to overlook.

15:40 - Captain Jameson

Captain Jameson is our next selection is the Class 4 Handicap over six furlongs and this John Quinn trained gelding is a big eye-catcher.

Two starts ago he took the eye nicely when finishing a strong third in a Class 3 on heavy ground so he will be wanting the heavens to open on Saturday.

He was not as good last time out on quicker ground but getting back to a course with some cut in could make him a player.

16:15 - Bahuta Acha

Coming towards the end of the card and Bahuta Acha for trainer David Loughnane looks to have a big chance if continuing on his upward curve.

He has finished second on his last two runs both of them coming on different ground types so he won't mind the conditions.

However, if it was to rain it would make him more of a player with him being one of the few in the race that can handle cut in the ground.

16:45 - Reeves

The final runner of the day comes in the Class 3 Handicap over seven furlongs and this Robert Cowell trained Reeves heads into the contest in decent form.

Although not getting that elusive win he has ran to a fair standard with his best run coming four starts ago when finishing second a big fielded handicap at York.

He was behind Godolphin's Space Blues who has since gone on to finish a close third in Group 1 race in France and if running to that standard now six pounds lower he has a big chance.
