1.50 Muhaarar British EBF Rosemary Stakes (Listed) (Fillies And Mares)

Unforgettable Filly

The Muhaarar British EBF Rosemary Stakes gets off and running at Newmarket this week. With a nine-strong field, for us, it’s between Unforgetbale Filly and Laugh Aloud in the first.

Unforgettable Filly has won four times over seven furlongs to a mile and most recently was a 14/1 winner at Haydock. She also won the German Group 2 German 1000 Guineas last year. Laugh Aloud won this race last year and also won four times over a mile. She has added a listed Group 3 win at Goodwood.

We think that Unforgettable Filly will have just a little be more here at Newmarket, as she thrived at this level last time out at Haydock.

2.25 Princess Royal Nayef Stakes (Group 3) (Fillies And Mares)

Star Rock

The 2.25 is the Princess Royal Nayef Stakes; the nine-strong field looks to be a competitive race.

Star Rock is the bookies favourite with Oisin Murphy on board, and should go head to head with French listed winner Mrs Sippy and Sun Maiden who has Ryan Moore in the Saddle.

Star Rock is yet to win this term but two good places in recent races, including a Group 2 at Goodwood. The drop back down should see her have too much for the rest of the field here at Newmarket.

3.00 Shadwell Rockfel Stakes (Fillies' Group 2)

Canton Queen

The 3.00 Shadwell Rockfel Stakes looks a good race on paper with the Mark Johnston-trained Main Edition the favourite.

Main Edition struggled in a Group 1 only 12 days ago at Curragh, so will be looking to bounce back quickly with Frankie Dettori in the Saddle. Canton Queen also catches the eye, with the Richard Hannon-trained filly a 16/1 winner at Leicester

We like Canton Queen each way in this race after showing enormous improvement last time out.

3.35 Shadwell Joel Stakes (Group 2)

Mustashry

The 3.35 Shadwell Joel Stakes has some standout quilty in the field. It’s hard to argue with the bookies favourite Mustashry.

The Sir Michael Stoute train star has won six race from seven furlongs to a mile, including the Park Stakes at Doncaster last time out.

Only a 3lb rise for that win and looks the pick despite that rise from the handicapper seems to have the beating of the five-horse field.

4.10 Derrinstown British EBF Maiden Stakes (Plus 10)

Estihdaaf

The Derrinstown British EBF Maiden Stakes is the 4.10 offering from Newmarket. Estihdaaf with Oisin Murphy looks the standout.

Estihdaaf was beaten by a nose on debut last time out at York, but that experience will be so valuable here if Estihdaaf is to open his account here at Newmarket.

Oisin Murphy is also in great form again this year and should get the best from Estihdaaf.

4.45 Mukhadram Godolphin Stakes (Listed)

Communique

The 4.45 Mukhadram Godolphin Stakes has a field of five here at Newmarket. The two that catch the eye are Barsanti and Communique.

Barsanti struggled last time out and hasn’t hasn't made the same impact since winning a listed race at Ascot in May. Communique won over 1 mile 4 furlongs last Friday at Newbury and now is stepped up with Ryan Moore in the saddle.

Can Communique make the jump in class? After watching the Newbury run, we think that he can and will take the Mukhadram Godolphin Stakes.

5.15 Shadwell Farm Handicap (Silver Cambridgeshire)

History Writer

The final race at Newmarket is the 20 horse Shadwell Farm Handicap. Going off form figures Little Jo is the standout but is short priced for a field this size.

History Writer was disappointing last time out at Sandown but doesn't have many miles in the tank. This look tailor-made for History Writer to come to Newmarket and perform to his best.

For us History Writer each way in the last at Newmarket.
