Act Of God fits the profile of a strong travelling type sure to be well suited to Aintree.

Edward O'Grady's Irish raider has been kept up to his work throughout the summer and there should be no quarrels surrounding fitness heading into this race.

The son of Camelot is yet to prove his stamina capabilities over the 3 mile trip, however the manner of his victory at Bellewstown has signified potential for him to relish the longer distance given how he stayed on at the line; a manner of finish replicated at Listowel on his last hurdles start when not able to reach the long time leaders despite staying on markedly well.

He was given a run out on the flat last time out, proving the good level of form he is currently in, always doing enough to win by a half length margin at Gowran Park.

He looks set to run a big race here and may just make the trip across the Irish Sea well worth his connections time and efforts.

Tomfre won this race last year off just a 1lb lower mark and looks set to go close once again a year on.

Ralph Beckett is in decent form of late, boasting a 17% strike rate across the last 14 days, and he saw his runner Tomfre bounce back to form last time out at Leicester to finish runner up behind Able Kane.

The RPR recorded that day, 106, ranks the clear highest recorded by any of these rivals on their most recent runs and the runner is set to once more relish the well suited soft conditions and the switch back to Town Moor.

It's hard to look past Bravemansgame in the Grade 2 'Rising Stars' Novices' Chase.

The Grade 1 winning hurdler took to chasing in impressive fashion last time out at Newton Abbot, jumping a near perfect round whilst making all from the front.

He's entitled to come on for the run with it having been his first start in 6 months and he now makes the step back up into Graded affairs.

Paul Nicholl's gelding is the one they all need to beat here, reflected in his already short price for the contest.

Ainsdale has run some big races this season without quite getting his head in front.

Karl Burke, in fair form of late, drops his runner back down into listed company here after outrunning his odds of 125/1 at Group 1 level last time out in the British Champion Sprint Stakes at Ascot.

Prior to that effort, he finished a neck 2nd on heavy ground behind Liberty Beach in the Group 2 Temple Stakes at Haydock in May, and more recently finished 4th in the Group 3 Bengough Stakes at Ascot, 3/4 of a length behind Kings Lynn who he re-opposes today 3lb better off.

Furthermore, a first time visor is now being applied in order to bring further improvement out of the runner and if having the desired effects, and factoring conditions remain on the soft side, he rates a real chance to finally get his deserved win in a competitive looking listed affair.

Senior Citizen was a highly progressive chaser last year, mainly running over the 2 1/2 mile trips.

He performed admirably to finish 4th on his first time step up to graded company at Newbury for the Grade 3 Greatwood Gold Cup and backed up that form with a 3rd placed finish here at Aintree in the Topham Handicap Chase next time out.

Alan King has had this race targeted for Senior Citizen who returned from a 5 month break last time out to readily land a class 2 handicap chase at Market Rasen, travelling noticeably strong before keeping on well at the finish in that affair.

He's entitled to have come on for that comeback run and appears to be in great order ahead of this step back up in grade.

Despite boasting fairly decent form, Alan King has made no secret that Wynn House is capable of much better than what she has shown thus far across her five starts as a hurdler.

The daughter of Presenting won on her first 2 starts over hurdles last season over 2m 3f - 2m 5f trips upon good ground, however was seen to lesser effect up at the 3 mile distance, not quite seeing out her races.

She ran a funny race off a big weight when last seen in a 4 runner affair at Ludlow, finishing 2nd, and she now marks her return off the back of a 220 day break.

With progression more than likely to have taken place over the summer, Wynn House is expected to return a better rounded proposition.

Alan King knows how to get them ready first time out, boasting a 17% strike rate with his returners from 150+ day breaks.

This race has been notoriously hard to win off a big weight, with 10 of the last 14 winners carrying 11 stone or less at the weights; carrying10 stone 7lbs, Wynn House looks more than attractively weighted for the affair.

Sam Cooke's win over todays 12f trip at this level in August could certainly be upgraded given he was waiting for room from 2f out; once the gap did appear he ran on eye-catchingly well and the winning margin could have been much greater.

He replicated that level of performance and confirmed how good of shape he's in when running a careers best RPR last time out at Newbury on the drop back to 10f, however just couldn't reach the leader after running on well in the closing stages.

The step back up to 12f looks sure to suit and if continuing in the same form, he looks sure to be involved at the business end of this race, despite how competitive it looks from the outside.

He's proven to be versatile groundwise and should run his race regardless here.

Hurricane Harvey was a Grade 2 winner of the December Novices' Chase (24f) last season however poor rounds of jumping cost him in his two subsequent affairs at Ascot and Ayr.

He was subject to a wind operation over the summer in order to eek out further improvements and he returned last time out at Chepstow under a quiet ride over an insufficent trip in order to get him back to race fitness.

The son of Doyen should now relish the step back up to the 3 mile trip and despite a few unknowns surrounding how much of an effect the wind op has had at springing him back into form, he should now be primed to go close if back near to his best.

If Goshen is back close to his best it would be no surprise to see him spring back to form with a big run in the same race he won last season.

With little rain in the forecast however that makes things difficult and preference is for Sceau Royal who won the Grade 2 Game Spirit Chase last season at Newbury.

The son of Doctor Dino continued to run respectably up at Grade 1 level over the larger obstacles in the two races following that win however marked his return back over hurdles last time out at Kempton, comfortably landing a listed affair at Kempton.

He'll be sure to appreciate the better underfoot conditions and looks to be in great shape this season.

Will be a tough rival to beat under these conditions now stepping back into graded company.
