The first selection on day two of the July meeting at Newmarket sees the juveniles head to post for the 7f Maiden Stakes and the stand out runner looks to be Sweeping.

The Archie Watson trained youngster has shown plenty of ability on both his starts to date, starting with a good second on debut behind the smart Dhabab for John & Thady Gosden.

Off the back of that he went to Royal Ascot for the Listed Chesham Stakes and battled on well to finish a close fourth behind the bright Point Lonsdale.

That form looks the best heading into the race and if kicking on again he could be tough to beat with experience on both good and soft ground playing to his strengths.

Next up is the bet365 Handicap over 1m2f and we are siding with the John Gosden trained Peter The Great who looks an extremely versatile type.

The three year old has been seen three times to date and has improved massively for every run and now heading into this handicap looks to be extremely well weighted.

Peter The Great made his debut at Newmarket over a mile in April when landing the competitive Wood Ditton Maiden Stakes and the form of that race has worked out well with the second, third and fourth winning next time out.

The son of New Approach was a good second next time out behind the smart Nagano who has since won again and on his latest start the three year old got back to winning ways over course and distance when landing a Novice Stakes.

He steps into a handicap for the first time off a mark of 92 and looks the one to beat if progressing again.

The Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes over six furlongs sees some of the best sprinting juveniles go to post and we fancy Hello You to reverse the form with the favourite.

The daughter of Invincible Spirit bounced onto the scene in May bolting up in a Maiden Stakes at Wolverhampton by close to seven lengths.

Off the back of that he went to Royal Ascot and was pitched into the Group Three Albany Stakes where he finished a good second behind Sandrine.

The ground was heavy that day and won't be as soft on Friday, which could see Hello You reverse the form with the Andrew Balding horse.

The bet365 Trophy is always a tough race for punters but we think we have found a solid each way pick with Global Storm for Charlie Appleby.

This season the four year old has stepped up massively in trip and has revelled in it, making his seasonal debut in Britain in May and he finished a good second behind the smart Zabeel Champion at Newmarket.

Off the back of that he went up to 14f and on his first try at the trip won well over course and distance at Newmarket.

The son of Night And Thunder was last seen finishing a staying on third in the Copper Horse Handicap at Royal Ascot and having only gone up 2lb for that run he looks a live player once more.

The feature race of the day on Friday is the Group One Falmouth Stakes and the consistent Mother Earth can get back to winning ways.

Mother Earth has been one of the stars of the mile fillies division this term running superbly in two Group One events and off the back of those she is the worthy favourite for this event.

The filly was a fair juvenile landing a Group Three event on her third start, and then towards the end of last season finishing second at the Breeders' Cup meeting in a Group One and also finishing a good third in the Group One Fillies' Mile.

The yard did not know what to expect for the daughter of Zoffany but on seasonal debut this term she managed to land the 1000 Guineas in taking style.

Off the back of that she was sent to France looking to land the 1000 Guineas double, but she could only finish second, giving another good account of herself.

Last time out the filly was seen finishing a close third behind Alcohol Free and Snow Lantern and will need to reverse the form but getting nicer ground could be the key.

The penultimate event on the card is the Class 3 Handicap over seven furlongs and at the bottom of the weights is Existent for John & Thady Gosden.

The Cheveley Park owned colt runs in this event off a mark of 88 having performed well as a juvenile and ran well on seasonal debut this term.

On his penultimate start last term he won over course and distance on heavy ground and then on his seasonal debut finished a close third behind two nice types.

That run would have put him spot on for this event and he looks to be very well handicapped.

The final event sees the sprinters head to post in the Class 3 Handicap over five furlongs and Operatic for the Simon & Ed Crisford Team could be a big each way player.

The three year old filly having been a smart juvenile winning two of her three events, has also performed well this term in better races.

She made her seasonal debut in a Fillies' Handicap at Goodwood where she slightly needed the run but next time out was a much closer third over six furlongs on the July course.

Stepping down a furlong could be the making of her and at an each way price is worth taking a chance on.
