Habitus definitely sets the standard here and this is a much weaker race than the one he finished fifth in last time out, but he is short enough at 5/4, and Michael Dini’s Beach Warrior rates a solid each way proposition at 7/1.
The 3-y-o gelding was sent off just 10/3 here on debut but he made life hard for himself pulling hard in the rear under Jesus Castanon.
Once the rider straightened him out and asked for an effort he began to surge through the field for a never-nearer third, with the early excursions probably costing him a victory in the race.
He looks the type to improve plenty for that experience and top jockey Antonio Gallardo has been booked.
