As a two year old Pinatubo gave out the performance of his career landing his first Group One of his career in the National Stakes at the Curragh beating a superb field of youngsters by close to 10 lengths, which saw the colt get a rating of 128 two pounds higher than the might Frankel at that age.
From there he headed to Newmarket for the Dewhurst and off the back of that display he was obviously a force to be reckoned with and he made it six wins in a row and him being undefeated for the season.
Stepping up this year as a three year old the other horses have caught up to him and although being a Group One winner this term he has lost his unbeaten record.
He is still one of the best seven furlong/mile horses in the sport at the moment, but when racing in this event last year he was arguably the best two year old to ever win the race.
