Day Two Goodwood Runners Notes

"We were happy with how yesterday's runners performed with three solid efforts seeing them finish third, fourth and fifth in very competitive races.

"It was a solid start to the meeting."

"We start with Stonific in the staying race today which sees him stepping up to 2 miles 4 furlongs which will be a bit of an unknown.

"His two runs at Beverley over the past week were very satisfactory ones, winning pretty well last time out, travelling through the race lovely.

"He is a horse who likes to get cover and be held up and that is difficult to do at Goodwood, but if he stays the trip he should travel away well into the straight and then we will see but with the extra half mile we are going into the unknown.

"We are sending him to Goodwood more with hope than expectation."

"The filly Country Carnival, her form looks to give her a shout in the race as she is closely matched with the Rod Millman horse Furlong Factor.

"The big danger to us is the Karl Burke Horse, Spright who has looked good in novices so far who is dropping back to five and showing plenty of speed.

"Country Carnival should be there or thereabouts and we expect her to be involved in the finish and hopefully she can come out on top."
